A distinctive and thought-provoking artwork.
For me, this appealing painting is entrancing like a pure blue sapphire, precious, and desirable. It makes me feel impressed and enthralled with how Vincent Van Gohn depicted the night sky by his view and imagination. Look at how he created the brimming beauty with those whirling clouds, iridescent stars, and the ethereal bright crescent moon. Those overalls fully represent the whore meaning of "Starry Night": dark night sky abounding with shining stars and glowing stellates.
At first sight, it prominently shows a beautiful, rich burst of colors. Different tones of yellows and blueish paints are thickly applied to the canvas, forming proficient techniques of "impasto", which means sturdy brushstrokes and palette knives of "paste" and "mixture" are clearly visible. Impasto makes the stars become bright and like wonders illuminating in the dark. Noticeably, in the center, there were churning swirls of white, yellow, and baby blue, similar to strong gusts of wind blowing complete the connection between everything together. Lastly, the towering coal-black cypress tree in the left foreground brings us a mysterious mood, a contract with how the explored energy from the stars and moons. It vertically becomes a bride that links from the sleepy town to the sky up high above.
I love how he developed his own impressionism art style. Modern, unique, and dreamlike are the only 3 words I could think of to fully express my intermingles of memories and dismays about this. In addition, despite its indisputable beauty, "Starry Night" also arouses a plunge of the feeling of foreboding the meandering winds, and jumped into a story of your own journey.
This is the song "Starry Night" by Mamamoo that introduces me to this painting. :)
Wow, fantastic blog post. Well done!
